John Albert is counsel in New York’s office of Manatt,
Phelps & Phillips, LLP, working with the Government and Regulatory practice group. John also founded the non-profit Taking
Our Seat which seeks to empower the South Asian-Americans in the electoral process.
He previously
served as the Vice President of External Relations for The
After-School Corporation (TASC) in New York. While there, he directed TASC’s governmental affairs, leading a team to maintain
and develop relationships with federal, state, and local
government officials. John also worked with policymakers and
key stakeholders to shape budget and policy initiatives
designed to benefit after-school programs in New York and nationwide.
Prior to his work at TASC, John served as the Director of
Intergovernmental Affairs at The Department of Youth and Community Development in New
York City. John also worked as the Senior Director of Government Affairs
for Safe Horizon, Inc. (Victim Services, Inc.).
